I was asked to make a cake for a surprise 40th birthday party, for a gal who loves wine! How fun is this cake?! Cake was almond with almond buttercream, and white chocolate shavings on top. Wine bottle, crate, grapes and grape leaves were handmade from fondant.
A big “Thank You!” to my friend, Laura Stewart, who designed the bottle label for me.
As for me, I think its time to grab a glass of the real stuff and relax. I’m looking forward to the calm week ahead!
I am so excited to have finally made a SPRINKLE cake! Especially, since it was made for a friend’s birthday. When Jared told me how much Jess LOVES sprinkles, I knew exactly what I was going to do!! And the best part? A sweet picture of their little man, Lincoln, right on top.
Don’t forget Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!!
Place your order for a Fabulous Red Velvet Sweetheart Rosette, before its too late!!
Flowers are pretty…
but cakes are pretty and nice.
Flowers end up in the trash…
and cakes are for sharing slice by slice.
So think beyond the flowers…
and the chocolates and candies too.
A cake is certain to make them smile…
Mimi’s will bake the perfect one for you.

Whew! What a weekend!
I’ll start off with this Minnie Mouse cake. It was designed for one of my repeat customers…this is her 3rd order from Mimi’s! (Such a great feeling to have repeat customers!) Anyway, this cake is probably my favorite that I’ve made this far! Cake is chocolate, with vanilla buttercream, covered in fondant. Coordinating cupcakes are almond with almond buttercream. I cannot believe the number of views and likes this cake has gotten on Facebook! Thanks to everyone for looking, liking, sharing and commenting! You are all great!
Here is another kitty cat cake that I made. Cake was vanilla, with vanilla buttercream and fondant details. Coordinating cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate with vanilla buttercream. I just loved this cake!! It was made for 7 year old, Mia. Her Mom told me at pick up how much she was going to love it, and that she was waiting to see the cake before she picked out her outfit for her party! How cute is that?!!
Here is a cake made for a monkey themed baby shower. Monkey was made by hand from fondant, cake flavor was almond, with almond buttercream. Coordinating cupcakes were chocolate with vanilla buttercream and fabulous red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Yum!
Do you wanna build a snowmaaaan?? If you’ve seen Disney’s Frozen…you know what I’m talking about! Such a cute movie and songs! My girls were watching a you tube video and singing, “Do you wanna build a snowman” all day! (we can’t wait for the movie to be released!) This cake was made for little Kennedy, who turned 4. Cake was almond, with almond buttercream and fondant details.
This cake was made for local DJ Jade Reed. This one was tricky!! I did my best to recreate his logo…how’d I do?
If you haven’t found me on Facebook yet, please do! Mimi’s is also on Pinterest and Instagram! Just follow the links on the right…and please share with friends!
Have a great Sunday! Now it’s time to go relax with my girls and watch Tangled!
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Madeline, Hayden, Ellsey, Tate and Grampo…Happy Birthday to you!!
Who knew there could be so many January birthdays?!! Here are pics from last weekend…enjoy!
And last, but not least…my little bakers in training. Mmmmm…FROSTING!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Sydney’s Mommy just fell in love with this adorable little monster while browsing birthday ideas online. So with the original cake designer’s approval, I did my best to recreate her!
My 2 year old just loved watching this little monster come to life…(she’s EXTREMELY into Monster’s Inc. right now!) I might have to make her an itty bitty monster, just for fun. 🙂
Monsters are sure fun to make…remember this other monster I did a few months ago?
Thanks for stopping by!
So somewhere in between working full time aside from Mimi’s, my 2 sweetie pies, a husband, Christmas shopping, Christmas wrapping, Christmas baking, mailing Christmas cards, trying to remember to move that darn elf around at night, cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, having a tiny shred of a social life, the list goes on and on and on, and did I mention I also work full time? WHEW. I am often asked how I do it. Answer: I. Don’t. Know. I guess you could just say this gal right here doesn’t sleep much. And I am NOT complaining…I LOVE creating fun, unique, tasty cakes! I truly enjoy cake decorating…its even somewhat therapeutic for me, believe it or not.
Anyway, I managed to make time to get some pics uploaded tonight from the past couple of weeks. Enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week everyone!!
I know I always say how much fun every cake is that I do…but this one, this one takes the CAKE!!
It’s so girly…and princessy…and fancy…and pink! I just LOVED it!
Not to mention the look on little Jaelynn’s face when she saw it…her eyes just lit up!
Happy Birthday, Jaelynn!
Here are a couple more cakes I did this weekend…
This pink rosette cake will be all smashed up when Chloe gets to it at her photo shoot tomorrow! Can’t wait to see pics!!
Oh, and my new cake stand I finally treated myself to…YAY! (I’m just a little excited about it)
I made this next cake for my friend’s daughter, Mattie. She turned 11 and celebrated with a BIG surprise party with all of her friends last night. It was my first time using an edible photo on the cake…I think it turned out pretty neat!
Happy Birthday, Miss Mattie!
